As part of the exhibition Are You A Woman in Authority? Broken Grey Wires present a series of workshops and events exploring themes of empowerment, gender, and community.

This workshop thinks about how we construct and reconstruct memories through analogue archives and images. We will be using old slides and 8mm film, scratching away the surface and drawing over and cutting up. It plays with the idea of memory, environment and thinks about our own archive and how things can be made/remade and recycled, and new narratives created in the process. We will particularly be thinking about it in terms of layering histories and pasts and using recycling materials to explore and thinking about how we can in particular represent our environmental memories, thinking about both our human and non-human experiences in an attempt to make or think about more ecological forms of archiving and representation.
