ABOUT
‘SUN DANCER’ is Jess Frankland’s debut solo show. The show comprises of paintings and a film made across summer 2025-2026.
Frankland paints about celebratory themes on handmade canvases that draw on real and imagined experiences. SUN DANCER shows her current work made with domestic materials and traditional paints. Frankland creates saturated paintings that explore her experiences of nature and female stories combined with physiological spaces and other worldly dimensions. SUN DANCER combines Frankland’s 2D work with a film piece ‘Hello Sunshine’ that intends to break down barriers between the audience, camera and subjects.
Jess Frankland (b.93, UK) is a neurodivergent multidisciplinary artist working across painting and film in South West England. She has worked in collaboration with renowned artists, exhibited her work nationally and in the Turner Contemporary, won D&AD Sliver Pencil for her short films and self-published and sold in the Photographers Gallery.
