ABOUT

The Nature of the South Coast: Comic Storytelling

Place based observations have been used to capture and communicate the nature of the south coast, telling stories through graphic design that illustrate how place, nature and people connect.

This exhibition is a culmination of that work, highlighting stories from Sussex Bay, East Dean and Friston, and Stanmer Park. Created through a collaboration between Dr Chris Sandom from the University of Sussex and Daniel Locke, a graphic illustrator from Brighton, the works combine both science and art in a way that enables connection with a place to be articulated and expressed in an accessible way and remind us of the interconnectedness of life.

An exhibition of the art created through this project will be open to the public between 11am and 3pm. Chris and Daniel will reflect on their experiences of the project between 1-2pm with a Q&A session to follow.
