ABOUT

The past has passed but what does it show us to be of use going forward?
Having this show has made me consider this more carefully than before; places and people; is my conclusion.
People, who influence the way you see where you live and interact with others and place, with its particular characteristics and idiosyncrasies. That place was North East Essex, a busy port and close by its opposite, flat marshland, devoid of people but full of life.
This show ‘Me and Miss Jones . . . and Mr Jennings’ praises the importance of education and encouragement, the first of many influential teachers who have shown me the way forward .

Artist biography

My career has taken many twists and turns, training as an architect, working for Erno Goldfinger on a modern brutalist building that is now a listed grade 2 building then a radical change to Social Development for 30 years and later to art, a Fine Art Degree, and a full time painter in Phoenix art Space for the last decade.
I describe my art as NonObjective rather than Abstract but that is a fine line of distinction and not one to fall out about!
As one of the four H_A_R_D_P_A_I_N_T_E_R_S we have curated shows in Phoenix and elsewhere in Iceland, Denmark, and Bulgaria, but that was yesterday, tomorrow will provide more twists and turns.
