Gallery DODO’s latest show brings together the work of five artists and an artist duo through the idiom ‘pissing against the moon’. Painting, embroidery, video, mono print, and checkout receipts are all utilised by the artists to embrace the wasting of time, a lack of productivity, a futile pursuit, a repetitive activity, or the procuring of nothing. In this sense, ‘pissing against the moon’ is not a complaint from the artists but instead, paradoxically, a fruitful source for the production of their work.
