ABOUT
Marigold flowers are deeply rooted in Indian culture. Commonly known as ‘Genda Phool’ these beautiful flowers are used in religious ceremonies, festivals, traditional rituals and celebrations. Marigolds are associated with the sun and their golden yellow and orange colours symbolise brightness, positivity and good fortune.
Join artist Saj Fareed and create your own paper marigold flowers to take home and enjoy, or add to our collaborative artwork. You can use traditional colours or choose those that put a smile on your face and make you feel happy. Together we will celebrate the positive symbolism of the marigold flower.
Our family workshops are for children aged 5yrs+ to enjoy being creative together with their parents / carers. Artist-led and inspired by the themes of our exhibition programme they are a great opportunity to have fun and explore different materials. All workshops are free and drop-in so there’s no need to book.
This workshop is part of the Swan Song: sing her to me exhibition programme, more info here.
