ABOUT
Starlings seem to stick together like magnets when they fly together in a flock. Come and experiment with magnetic materials and patterns in our playful science lab with artist Steve Geliot. We will simulate starling flocks and the fabulous shapes and patterns they make in the air by using magnets, iron filings, light boxes, projectors and various other materials. This workshop is suitable for anyone aged 5yrs+ but small children must be accompanied by a watchful adult at all times for safety.
Our family workshops are for parents / carers and children aged 5yrs+ to enjoy being creative together. Artist-led and inspired by the themes of our exhibition programme they are a great opportunity to have fun and explore different materials. All workshops are free and drop-in so there’s no need to book.
As part of the Undercurrents exhibition programme. Find out more here.
This workshop has been made possible by an award from Postcode Society Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
