Applicant Information

We house over 120 artists from all disciplines in affordable studio spaces over 4 floors in the centre of Brighton. We present a year-round gallery programme, events, education programme, community engagement programme and an onsite café.

We aim to achieve a balance of gender, ethnicity, age, and practice diversity within the studios and this too will be considered while allocating space.

Applications can only be made using this form during our Open Call dates. Applications can only be accepted using this form.

Please note that our studios are in high demand and are currently full. Any artists selected through this process will at this time ONLY join our Pool List of selected artists waiting for space to become available.

Successful applicants will be notified by email. Due to the high number of applications, we receive we are not able to provide individual feedback to artists.

Applications can only be accepted by individual artists at this time, if you wish to studio share (we are able only to offer a very limited amount of these) an individual application must be sent from each artist noting any collaborative artists.

It is essential that you evidence the fulfilment of our criteria in your application – this is available on our website.

We will require a reference from someone you have worked for or with professionally and within context of your current practice. (This will only be requested if your application is successful)

Your initial application will be viewed by the Studio Manager and 1 artist who will make a shortlist of 30 applications to be reviewed by a full panel.

We select between 8 and 12 artists each year to join our Pool List.
