Discover your family’s creativity together with artist Jenny Staff in this free family workshop inspired by the exhibition Beyond the Studio.

Drawing ideas from the variety of artworks by Phoenix studio artists on display in our Main Gallery, you’ll create your own fold-out sketchbook from scratch before filling its pages with creative experiments. Explore a range of materials and techniques, including mark-making, printing, collage, wire, wood and thread.

This playful workshop is all about trying new ideas, getting creative together, and making a unique fold-out sketchbook filled with textures, discoveries and inspiration to take home.

Our family workshops are for children aged 5yrs+ to enjoy being creative together with their parents / carers. Artist-led and inspired by the themes of our exhibition programme they are a great opportunity to have fun and explore different materials. All workshops are free and drop-in so there’s no need to book.
