Fred King – VESSEL

Exhibition

ABOUT

‘VESSEL’ is Fred kings second solo exhibition, that explores mediums of sculpture and performance. ‘VESSEL’ explores the idea of the body as a temple for expression . Observing the body and blood as a form of physical identification and creative purpose.

This work spans over 2 years of work that stemmed from a series of uncontrollable noise bleeds I experienced during a creative period block. Through these uncontrollable nose bleeds, I was able to incorporate physical blood into some of the elements of the pieces . Which later manifested itself into the concept of ‘VESSEL’. Being able to be creatively free in oneself.

Preview: Thursday 6 Aug, 6-8pm

Bio

Fred King is an artist based in Steyning West Sussex ,England.
King is performance based artist who is primarily influenced by deterioration, the human form, horror and fashion. Kings admiration for creating, stems from expressing his truest self within an isolated community, which helped King unravel his own identity and meaning.  King also stems his work into wearable sculptures that question and confronts modern day sculptural standards. These sculptures typically are body based sculptures which are build to act multi functional. Kings influences range from artists (such as McQueen, Franko B, Rebecca Horn, Sagazan and Leigh Bowery) religion, film and atmospherical experiences. Kings’ raw and aggressive approach continues to push boundaries on what art is and occupies space doing so.
