White Room

The Wandering Womb

Talk

ABOUT

Talk / writing workshop on the history of periods in culture and medicine, looking at how these two worlds shape one another, and how the stories we tell affect the ways that we bleed / experience our bodies for those who don’t bleed.

Grounded in academic research and guided by autobiographical storytelling, the session includes accessible creative writing exercises to help engage more deeply with the material, spark creativity, and uncover the stories that may be held within your own body.

It’s a warm, welcoming, and inclusive space. People of all identities, ages, backgrounds, and religions are very welcome. You don’t need to have a period or a womb to attend – everyone is invited to listen, reflect, and participate in whatever way feels right.

The writing exercises are completely optional, and no prior writing experience is needed.

Expect to learn more about your body and the world around you, feel a deeper sense of connection, and to be entertained along the way.
